Bálik is an interdisciplinary design practise founded by Jana & Palo Bálik in Bratislava. The Studio works includes book, magazine and editorial design, illustrations, interior and exhibition design, art direction, jewellery design and visual identity systems.

Jana Bálik likes to work interdisciplinary, changing work of graphic design, illustration, jewellery, ceramics, exhibition design and small art projects. She studied in the studio of graphic design and in the jewellery studio at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. She likes to travel, design and redesign interiors, watch movies, eat tasty food and has a category B driving licence. Jana currently works as a children book and magazine designer.

Palo Bálik is a book designer and head of Laboratory of Typography at the Visual Communication Department of Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He is the author and co-author of scientific publications, founder of the Slovak typographic knowledge base typografia.xyz and the academic publishing house nakladatelstvo.xyz. Palo is a curator of exhibitions in the field of typography and type design. He has received numerous awards for his editorial and book design work.
